Description
Antique Store for Sale - Burbank, California If you ever wanted an instant antique store, here it is. This is a fully operational turnkey retail store located on Antique Row in the Magnolia Park area of Burbank in sunny southern California. It has a sizable and varied inventory of pitchers, dolls, cupboards, lamps, hardback and rare books, paintings, furniture, fabric, notions and bric-a-brac. It's being sold so the owner can retire. The store has an old-world "shabby chic" charm to it, the contents ranging mostly from Victorian to vintage eras. Some inventory highlights are: over $22K of furniture, nearly $19K in pitchers & pitcher sets, over $13K of paintings, $11K of lamps & shades, $9K in fabric & notions, and over $3.5K of dress patterns. Additionally, there are over $2K of vintage lace pieces, $1400 of watering cans and $600 of Ohio Art tea sets. More than 40% of the inventory consists of hardback & rare books and ephemera (there are over 12,300 books). Store fixtures consist of a nondescript front desk, wooden roll-top desk, four glass cases and 40 wooden bookshelves of various sizes. There is even a working decorative fountain back in the book area, which provides a soothing and tranquil atmosphere for browsing books. Proximity to the movie industry is a plus for sales, Warner Brothers and the Walt Disney Studios are both right here in Burbank. Jay Leno tapes The Tonight Show at NBC Studios about a mile away on Alameda Avenue. Universal Studios is in nearby Universal City, with Hollywood just over the hill to the south. Numerous independent studios and film shoots occasionally shop here for set decoration items, as well as the occasional celebrity. In addition, the store is listed in Debbies Book (the entertainment industry sourcebook) until July 2009 under the category 'Antiques & Antique Decorations', see http://www.debbiesbook.com. This store also has an operational Ebay store: it's at http://stores.ebay.com/The-Guest-House-on-Magnolia. Some of the notable items sold on Ebay this year include an 1887 Chalupny baby grand piano, European china hutch, grandfather clock, old Silver woodstove, an L. Frank Baum bookplate and a huge collection of over 450 dolls. The 1100 square foot air-conditioned space the store presently rents can have the option of a 5-year lease with the owner. However, you can also get this item to go, if you already have a store and just want a lot more inventory. We'll contribute 7.5% of the purchase price toward the cost of shipping on North American Van Lines - plus we'll even box the whole place up for you. How many people would do that? Any watchers or visitors, please feel free to contact us; we would welcome any feedback or questions you might have regarding this store. The selling price has been lowered after some professional assessment of the business; it is genuinely priced to sell. Sorry, the cat doesn't go with the store.
